Children's Hospital Boston, a world-class specialized hospital and the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director, Clinical Research Program.

The Clinical Research Program (CRP) is a scientific, inter-disciplinary research program whose mission is to enhance the quality of clinical research at Children's Hospital through scientific leadership in clinical research methodology; collaboration or consultation on the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical research studies; and education in clinical research methods and practice which targets the clinical research community.  Since its inception in 1998, the CRP has sustained significant growth in staff and resources and now includes 34 staff members from various disciplines, including epidemiologists, biostatisticians, application developers, project directors, data coordinators, and data entry staff.

Reporting to the Director of the Clinical Research Program, the Associate Director is responsible for the day-to-day governance of the program, establishing annual budgetary requirements, supervising senior management personnel, and developing and ensuring the successful execution of annual Program goals and objectives.  The Associate Director leads short and long term strategic planning, including developing new directions or initiatives to promote excellence and quality in clinical research methods and practice, while planning and leading outreach efforts to the clinical research community and collaborating on clinical research protocols and program educational activities.

Qualified candidate must have: a doctorate in a scientific or medical discipline with relevant education and training in clinical research methods; previous administrative or management experience; excellent interpersonal skills; a commitment to fostering a collegial and team environment; strong written and communication skills; and competency and direct experience in clinical research.

The Department of Supply Chain Management and Marketing Sciences (SCMMS) invites applications for a tenure-track position in procurement, sourcing and supply management, at the Assistant Professor level, to begin July 1, 2009; tenure-track candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered on an exceptional basis.
 
Successful applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and have a strong methodological training, outstanding research potential, and excellent communication skills. They are expected to teach undergraduate, MBA, executive, and Ph.D. level courses, be actively involved in research and grant work, interface to industry, and supervise Ph.D. students in Supply Chain Management and Marketing Science.
 
The SCMMS Department is a newly created multidisciplinary organization charged with carrying out a strategic mission of the Rutgers Business School.  It combines top faculty in Supply Chain Management and Marketing Science whose teaching and research track closely industry trends in globalization, end-to-end supply chain management, and integration of supply chain management and marketing science. The Rutgers Business School is located in New Jersey in close proximity to the New York/Newark economic hub, numerous headquarters of global firms and major sea/air ports on the Eastern seaboard. AIT - Battle Management and

Our multi-vehicle mission control product tightly synchronizes the activities of large teams of heterogeneous unmanned vehicles to perform complex tasks in high-risk environments. Senior Biostatistician opening at Source MDx in Newton, MA

Source MDx, the leader in RNA-based molecular diagnostics, focuses on whole blood to develop biomarkers that measure immune and inflammation-related responses in cancer, autoimmune, cardiovascular, infectious disease and other inflammatory diseases.  Source MDx is at the forefront of researching and understanding the link between cancer and the immune response and how this link can be translated into whole blood RNA transcript based biomarkers for drug development and diagnostics. In 2007, Source MDx announced a multi-year translational molecular medicine collaboration with Pfizer to develop and validate RNA-based pharmacodynamic and predictive biomarkers within Pfizer's cancer and inflammation therapeutic development programs.

General Summary of Position:
Source MDx currently works in collaboration with Statistical Innovations (Belmont, MA) using Latent GOLD and other statistical software to develop logistic regression and related statistical models for the discovery and validation of clinical trial biomarkers for drug development and diagnostics. Source MDx holds a broad-based array of diagnostic patents in over 20 countries based on our clinical trials research. This position is responsible for biostatistical reporting, data management activities and coordination of data analysis work prepared by Statistical Innovations in support of both pharmaceutical client and internal clinical trials including: preparing statistical analysis plans; contributing to the statistical section of clinical trial protocols; reviewing analysis of clinical trial data; preparation of internal clinical trial statistical reports; preparation of client statistical reports; preparation of statistical analysis for patent filings and data management.

Minimum Education & Experience:
* Master's level degree in biostatistics or related field.
  Bachelor's level degree will be considered.
* At least 5 years of experience in statistical analysis in medical
  device
or pharmaceutical clinical trials.
* Demonstrated computer expertise in statistical modeling software,
  spreadsheets and word processing.
* Familiarity with clinical trial design and analysis issues.

Statistician, Assistant Professor

 

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time, contract-track statistician appointed as assistant professor, reporting to the Director of Advanced and Graduate Education within the Tufts University Scientific and Clinical Research Center. This position is part of a growing research team charged with enhancing the scope, breadth and funding levels of research projects at TUSDM.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

* Teaching core statistical courses for graduate and post-graduate students at the School of Dental Medicine;

* Providing analytic and statistical support to faculty and students from protocol inception to final reporting;

* Mentoring predoctoral and postdoctoral students with research design and project implementation;

* Serving on various committees for thesis reviews, fellowship assignments, etc;

* Presenting research findings at various conferences.

 

Qualified applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or Epidemiology, and have one to three years experience in clinical research.
